A few weeks ago I saw in a catalog a Christmas wreath with an owl to use as a napkin ring. I loved the idea and I considered how to carry it out.
I rolled wire to make the crown and started to color it with gesso as a base. Then I added pigments but they did not cover me enough. Then I painted it with beige acrylic and, when it was still wet, I returned to pigment to have several colors in it.
Once I liked the result, I gave her a layer of wax with Prima Marketing color (opal magic wax).
After cutting out some owls from The Cutting Cafe, from the "Fun with owls" file (you can get it by clicking on the name), I colored their wings and paws with gold paint and also gave them wax with color, just like the crown.
I only had to stick a couple of owls on the crown, add a silver snowflake and some small wooden stars. I already have a Christmas ornament. I did not like the napkin option.
¿Qué os parece? Para mí, reto conseguido. Me gusta este adorno.
Gracias por la visita.
¡Hasta pronto!
What do you think? For me, challenge achieved. I like this ornament.
Thanks for stopping by.
See you soon!
