DAF mayo - Wangari Maathai

May DAF of M & M Creative Girls on facebook. This month the protagonist is Wangari Maathai, the first African woman to receive the Novel Peace Prize.

Wangari Muta Maathai (Nyeri, Kenya, April 1, 1940 - Nairobi, Kenya, September 25, 2011) was a Kenyan politician and environmentalist. She was the first African woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize in 2004 for "her contribution to sustainable development, democracy and peace". In 1977, he founded the Green Belt Movement, for which he won the Well-Earned Livelihood Award in 1986. She was elected member of the Parliament of Kenya (Lower House of the National Assembly) where she served as assistant to the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources during the government of President Mwai Kibaki between January 2003 and November 2005. She was also a member of the Council of Honor of the Council for the future of the world.
Because of Wangari's defense of the environment, I wanted to make a background of the African steppe, inspired by some paintings I made with eva rubber years ago. For this I used acrylic paints and liquid watercolors. In addition to the painted tree, there is another hot embosado that has only the trunk and the branches. I wanted to represent the contrast caused by neglect of the environment, so much in the mouth in these times.
I also made a phantom stencil with a template that simulates a path of unequal stones. A piece of bodybuilder's tape has been used to write the data of the protagonist Wangari Maathai and paste on one of her phrases that I liked the most.

I show you the pictures in foamy on which I have been inspired to make the background of this DAF.
