Splashymix: Malma decorado

Este mes en Splashymix Challenge contamos con el patrocinio de ITD collection y yo voy a utilizar el set  Creative Set RS008 Summertime in blue para decorar este cuadro malma de Ikea con los papeles de arroz que contiene.
This month our sponsor is ITD collection and I used Creative Set RS008 Summertime in blue, one of their rice paper set, to decorate my mirror frame that I made for April Moodboard Challenge. 

Voy a enseñaros el paso a paso de mi proyecto. Este es el malma de Ikea que he utilizado y que pinté con uno de los colores que vienen en el papel de arroz de ITD collection  que escogí.

Pegué con cola blanca el papel de arroz que escogí en los dos laterales del cuadro. Para cortarlo fácilmente, mojé el papel de arroz con el pincel de agua por los lugares donde debía hacerlo. Con cuidado pasé un paño para fijarlo apretando desde el centro hacia afuera.

I'm going to show you the step by step for my project.

I glued the rice paper chosen with white glue on both sides of the frame. To easily cut it where I wanted and it would not break, I wet the paper with a water brush and so it just separates. Then, I lightly run a piece of cloth over it to adhere well to the surface.

Como me faltaba papel para rellenar todo el centro del cuadro, utilicé los trozos que tenía al recortar la forma del espejo y, después de pegarlos, los integré con pintura acrílica igual al color del papel utilizando el pincel de agua.

As I was missing an area to fill with the paper in the center of the frame, I use the pieces that have been left over long and I integrate them using acrylic paint similar to the colors of the paper spread with the water brush.

A continuación apliqué pasta craqueladora dorada de Stamperia en una de las jaulas que vienen en los stencils que vienen en el set. Le di calor para acelerar el craquelado y el secado de la pasta.

Next I used one of the stencils that come in the set with Stamperia crackling gold embossing paste and applied heat until it cracked and dried.

Por toda la superficie, de forma desigual, estampé unas pequeñas flores con la pintura acrílica que había utilizado antes y también un sello de una partitura musical con tinta Stazon negra.

On the entire surface, unevenly, I stamped a little flower stamp with some of the acrylic paint I used earlier, and a music stamp with black Stazon ink.

Aparte preparé algunas flores con los tonos del moodboard y uní los pétalos con un brad. Con una puntilla alta que tiene flores, hice algunas pruebas hasta que escogí lo que me gustaba. Corté algunos trozos del enrejillado de la puntilla para decorar el centro y la parte superior del cuadro. Añadí una frase de madera "Cosas bonitas" y dos notas musicales junto con dos flores más a las que pegué dos grandes perlas de color verde azulado.

I prepared some flowers separately and joined the petals with some brads. With a wide lace with flowers, I did several tests until I managed to leave that corner as I liked. 

I cut out other pieces of lace to decorate the top center of the image along with a wooden phrase that says "Pretty things", and some small flowers to which I glued a large teal blue pearl. I also added two wood musical notes.

Usé una lija fina para remover el papel que sobresale del cuadro. Esta es una forma fácil y segura para que no se rompa el papel.

I used sandpaper to remove the edges of the paper that protrude from the frame. So it is very easy to remove it without breaking it.

Para finalizar este proyecto, una vez conseguida la composición que quería, añadí Glossy Acents para resaltar los pájaros, la mariposa y algunas flores. Olvidé deciros que en las esquinas pegué unas esquineras de metal para adornar mi cuadro.
To finish my project, once I did the whole composition, I added Glossy Accents to highlight the birds, the butterfly and some flowers. I forgot that some metal corner pieces also adorn my mirror frame.
